Truck Driver Hauling Hazardous Materials Found Intoxicated

On February 13, 2007 at approximately 09:30 AM, Boyd D. Harper, a 61 year old resident of Riverton, UT was driving a 2006 Peterbuilt tractor pulling a semi-trailer containing a load of corrosive materials. The tractor was registered to Triad Transport Incorporated based in McAlester Oklahoma.

Harper exited the freeway to the Spokane Port of Entry and was stopped by Officer Littlefield for a random inspection. Officer Littlefield detected an odor of intoxicants coming from the driver. Mr. Harper admitted to officers that he had consumed some alcohol beverages the night prior. Mr. Harper volunteered to take a portable breath test (PBT) which showed the driver had alcohol in his system.

Commercial drivers cannot have any alcohol in their system when operating a commercial motor vehicle. The driver was citied for alcohol in his system and placed out of service for 24 hours.
